Why are game developers failing so hard now?

last good game to be released in working condition was Halo Reach in 2010 before that it was Halo 3 and before that i don't even know, but in the last 3-4 years not a single one of the games i have purchased have functioned for the first 2 weeks due to either horrible programming flaws, no servers, MASSIVE balancing issues that make it unplayable or something else.

my question is wtf happened? i do vaguely remember when games came out in 2003 they worked properly and that was that, halo 3 only got updated i think twice once was to fix a glitch and another time was to switch to a different type of matchmaking server but now games are updates 10+ times in the first month when they are released and all the updates tend to do is cause errors and nerf things.

did all the good game developers just start dying off in 2006 or something?

examples.
Battlefield 3 released oct-28-11, still doesn't work.

Assassin's creed revelations released around the same time, online still unplayable due to server response time being measured in minutes....

Battlefield bad company:2 worked well on release but then EA shut down most of the servers and nerfed the balanced guns into the ground while making the underpowered guns overpowered.

every CoD game since CoD4 has had to many obvious cheaters to be able to play legitimately.

the list goes on but you get the point.
hayden- DICE/EA made over 360,000,000$ on opening day from BF3 the least they could have done was buy some servers so we could have 64 player on console.
Ty Warren- DICE only allowing 24 players on consoles when they could have added well over 64 is what killed the game, and yes i am somewhat pessimistic so what.

I'm getting a 4GB xbox 360 slim pretty soon and I want to play the Halo Reach campaign but I heard I need a Hard Drive. Can't I just use a USB storage stick instead?

The right analog stick on both of my Xbox 360 controllers doesn't work?

The button used to "look down the sight" or "scope" in Halo Reach, no longer works for me. Around 2 months ago my first Xbox 360 controller's right analog stick suddenly stopped working out of no where. Then today my second Xbox 360 controller did the exact same thing. It literally just stopped working during a multiplayer matchmaking game. The right analog stick still let's me "look around" but when I press it in, nothing works. Is there anyway I can fix them, or do I have to buy a whole new Xbox 360 controller? :(

Why can silver account now play on Xbox Live?

As of yesterday, I witnessed one of my friends (who has a silver Xbox Live membership) play a matchmaking game on Halo Reach. I sent him a party invite and he was able to join that. He didn't even know why he could play in matchmaking or join parties either. So I told another one of my friends, who also has a silver membership to come online, and he did. Sure enough, he had all the privledges a gold membership has. I've also witnessed that same day, other silver memberships playing online in matching. What's going on, why do all the silver accounts getting the same privledges gold memberships do? Also, how long will this last if it does end.
I am sorry, but can you people stop giving me stupid answers with no facts. No, they are not on a free trial, because all there free trials expired a long time ago, that's why they are a SILVER MEMBERSHIP. And no, it's not just a halo reach thing, because I was just playing with my friend on Left 4 Dead 2, and he's playing right now on COD Black ops.

While playing Team Slayer on the Asylum map, someone went into Armor Lock, and somehow managed to move across the screen and kill me with the EMP. They remained frozen in the crouched position with the armor lock on and were able to move across the screen. How is this possible?

I had a very scary nightmare and i'm still scared?

So today i had one of the scariest nightmares of my life, it was a normal dream of me with my family, but in the background you could hear a heart beating... and getting closer every beating, when it was really close it begins making little earthquakes and that's when we started to worry and talk about that beating, i remember when it was really close, my dad said something about my mom... like saying "ha, i told your mom to be careful, she's dead now" and that's when i woke up... do you think the dream means something?, i can even have fun playing Halo: Reach because i'm still scared...

Yesterday I was playing halo reach and my girlfriend came over. She sat on my lap and watched me play but she got pretty bored.. She turned her body over and was trying to kiss me and get my attention. I was almost a general grade 3 but she was trying to get me not to play. Im 13 an my birthdays comin up and I'm seriously thinking of getting an Xbox 360 and I want to get Halo Reach I know MW3 is better but it has more blood/violence so I was thinking of starting wih halo getting my parents ok than after a while get the next revolutionary new game. But my parents (mom especially) have been very nit-picky about m games so I have two questions 1. Any idea on how to convince my mom? My sister plays skyrim and she's two years older than me 2. This is probably gunna sound stupid but do you need Xbox live to play multiplayer and if not what is the main point?
