Some 7 years after the war had ended; the U.S. military brass considered the .45 cartridge an effective round but that the full-sized Government model that fired it was too large for officers and others of high rank to easily carry. yo this gun is sick full metal body, metal internals and surprisingly metal barrel. This is the first 1911al done by colt with a metal barrel. It dissembles like the real thing and it also very easy to break down to clean lube up er whatever. this guns way heavier then your average airsoft pistol but dont worries all you weak sauces out there cause theres gyms and protein shakes. playin. but your able to unscrew, two screws on the grips and remove two weight on each side. it takes a good amount of weight off. there a con tho the orange tip is part of the barrel; the barrel extended and its painted. its not removeale unless you hav a good sanding machine. but other then that i still recommend this gun to whoever, its the highest quality piece you can probably find. you wont regret it dude. Be safe and wip on ur amigos
